4 Easy Steps To A Chemical-Free Backyard

4 Easy Steps To A Chemical-Free Backyard

July 7, 2020 By Ruth Harrigan Leave a Comment

With schools closed and limited day care available, many kids spend their pandemic days in their families’ backyards. Parents often wonder how can they make and maintain lawns that are healthy and safe for their children. Chemicals found in fertilizers and treatment solutions often cause asthma, cancer and certain behavioral issues. The easiest way to deal with these issues is to stop using pesticides altogether. Dealing with insects and weeds can be done using natural solutions. Insects can be deterred by having bird-feeders attracting insect eating birds and by planting plants that are natural insect-repellents. Feed the soil, water and mow high for a beautiful, grass rich lawn.

Key Takeaways:

  • Having the presence of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers is a potential danger to young children.
  • These harmful chemicals can cause asthma, organ damage, neurological disorders, and cancer in some cases.
  • Instead of using harmful chemicals you can opt instead to use nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other micro-nutrients to make sure your plants can prosper.
